Yes, that's one. Do you think this machine is not living up to expectations.

Sorry, it was the other machine that was $49. I thought it was cute. Don't see it on the Walmart site.

Personally I wouldn't buy a new Singer, especially a cheap one. Janome's and Brother's have a fairly decent reputation, even the low end ones.

I saw both machines yesterday at my Walmart. I would buy the Brother for a young or new sewer. If I needed a spare machine I would buy the Brother for myself. I thought it looked like the Brother they had for BF and I think it was the same price but I could be wrong.

Strictly my opinion but I would buy the Brother for $49. I bought one of those "heavy duty singers" from HSN. I made a rag quilt that came apart in the wash. I promptly returned it. Never had that happen with my old ugly Pfaff (guess Betty Jean is a keeper).

I have one and I love it...never a problem with them yet. Joann has the white ones out now and sells them a little higher than these

One of my ladies had a surprise present from her husband a while back, he spent £300 ish of the new, at that time, the Singer Heavy Duty machine, after trying it a couple of times she gave it to me to try, at my suggestion she sent it back and got her money refunded, terrible machine, for ordinary sewing or quilting.

I would buy a Bernina at any price, they do cost a lot to repair, mine is at present for a service which will cost £200 but it is a 740 model and hasn't been serviced etc. in all of it's 40+ to my knowledge and IMO is well worth while as I know it will keep going for at least another 40+, not that I will be around long enough to find out
