Yes, cut them into blocks or strips but I find if you label boxes 2.5" squares, 1" strips, etc. and neatly lay or fold the fabric in the appropriate box right away they're less of a hassle later. (Of coarse this is coming from someone who can't find anything under her nose.) Mom does this and when the box is full the fabric is ready for her to work with, no sorting, no ironing. (I'm almost there.)
