As for the DD, make her a quilt with the fabrics she bought and do not add colors. There are a lot of two tone quilts. I just hope it is not like a quilt I made for a cousin. She asked for black and brown. I did add some creme and a tiny red. Once the top was done I showed it and she did not like it as much as a bold bright colorful quilt I made for my son. She even asked for it. I guess she did not like the dark colors after all. I did remind her that she was the one that had requested it. Now I am making her a new quilt with black and bright batiks similar to my DS's quilt.
