I'm sure they are used for strip quilting are there other uses for them in the quilt world binding, edging and such? My 2nd question? Are there any standards for edging your quilt? I'm thinking of doing a 8 inch block and doing the double Hour glass. I wanted to do a queen size but just talked myself out of it for my first quilt. The pattern looks easy enough watched a wonderful helpful video on it. Did I make any sense or am I just babbling... again.
Hi Mama879, You are right, there ARE no stupid questions, I wish when I started Patchwork ++++ years ago that there were forums like this.I am not a great lover of jelly rolls, they tend to fray if you keep them long - depending on the quality and seem expensive to me.However if you haven't built up a stash of fabric they are useful.Look on the internet for quilts made from them, youtube is also a great place for inspiration.Enjoy your new -I was going to say hobby-- but maybe that should be art and obsession !
