The itty bitty pieces of batting scraps (1/2"-1") I give to my niece. She uses a small upholstery needle to sew them together to make bigger pieces. She's made couple little coasters with these little pieces. If rotary blades get dull they get pitched. I purchased Nancy's rotary blade sharpener. Used on couple rotary blades and they only lasted on couple pieces of yardage. Pitched them all. Sent the sharpener back to manufacturer with explanation as to how long the resharpened blades lasted. Got my money back. If in doubt, I throw it out!
