I must also plead guilty to some on the list, especially iffy bobbins, not changing sewing machine needles, and not changing rotary blades!

I laughed when I read this! I have been trying to decide how to organize some of my mess. In searching for all my backing and fleece.......I have discovered that I have enough batting pieces to stuff a mattress!!

I also save selvages, but I take them to the yearly quilt show in town and give them away. One of the ladies uses them...

    Oh contraire!

I double and triple the Oh contraire!!!! I know it's an old discussion but it's not foolish frugality!!! Every piece you toss away cost you money and someone here on the board or in your community would most likely have a use for it.

I know when I pick up a tool it will perform like new because it is new.
I'm with you - life is to short to use tools that are past their prime.

For me, buying fabric by itself, not as a collection, I will probably never use it. I like to gather up a collection for a quilt.
