I agree. I tried to scrimp and save for awhile, but when I realized that my husband didn't scrimp on tools - he got a good, decent, if expensive tool if that's what he needed- I decided I deserved the same. So I change needles and rotary blades on a timely basis, get good thread and fabric, and decent scissors. Sure, sometimes I try to save a few bucks, and keep more scraps than I will EVER use, but I spend so much time trying to create something worthwhile that I'm no longer willing to saw through fabric with a worn out blade, sew with a dull needle or use 10 for $1 thread.

I've got that! and I think there is a mouse in there because I hear rustling and once I found a handful of seed pods.
Maybe we can make dog beds out of them???

I have no good reason for being so stingy with machine needles... they aren't THAT expensive...

Not changing my needles soon enough. I know I should, but usually wait until I can hear my needle before I change it. Shame.

Using a poorly made sewing machine(love antique/vintage(before 1970) sewing machines)
using cheap scissors and other tools.

I caught myself trying to sand the point of a pin the other day. It had a burr and I automatically tried to fix it.

Then I came to my senses and threw it away. Really? A pin? Sheesh! The piece of sand paper I wore out probably cost more than that single pin.

Every time I change my cutting blade I'm so amazed at how much easier it is to cut!! Still, I just hate to do it! What is really bad is when I go to empty the trash can under my cutting table and pick fabric out of it that I had earlier deemed too small and put it in my scrap box to organize later......I just can't help myself!! LOL
