Actually on a FW the needle goes in the RIGHT side of the needle bar, FLAT to the LEFT.
It threads RIGHT to LEFT.
Also when you have the threaded bobbin in the bobbin case and threaded through the tension spring, and you pull on the thread, the bobbin should rotate clockwise.
