Thank you Feline Fanatic, that was what I was wondering about the drape and breath-ability.I also learned the silk shrinks more than 5 %, I do know there is a huge difference between cotton and silk.Also, is there much difference in distance when quilting as in inches between quilting, some batting calls for every 4'' or so I am not sure my first question was clear enough, but your reply was very helpful.I was on line and saw the silk batting for sale it was a little higher in price and wondered if it is worth the extra cost.Thanks again for the info.

IMHO the only comparison that can be made between silk batting and W&N or 80/20 is that they are all battings. Kind of like an apple and a banana are both fruit. Many quilters reserve silk batting for quilted garments because of its soft drape and breath-ability.
