Yup! I do the same for my coffee...it's the chicory in the coffee that makes it bitter..at least that's what I was told a long time ago....now I have a Keurig one cuper andI use my own coffee rather that prepackaged and still put a few grains of salt in that coffee basket. But I must mention I did break down and bought a box of folgers prepacked baskets and that coffee tasted excellent.
Will have to go back and buy folgers can again
