I've been wondering about this as well. I'm planning a DWR for my daughter and want it to be very neutral throughout. I started collecting batiks but soon realized I'd spend the next 100 years trying to get enough "neutral' batiks. So now I'll feel more confident using "regular" cottons. Thank you all. It's nice knowing other quilters have the same questions I do (and take the time to ask them)
