I mix all the time. i did im my gfg.
I'm doing another hex right now. one hex on top of two.
mixing all batiks i can get my hands on and reg. quilting cottons.

I use batiks all the time along with regular cotton prints. I think they really enhance a quilt. You might want to use them in a consistant way such as the center of the "flower" or use them around the outside edge or just simply scatter them about the quilt. Then you could use a batik as a border piece. Good luck.

I haven't mixed cottons with batiks yet, but if the colours go together, go for it.. I have made a batik quilt and hand quilted it with no problems. Looking forward to seeing your finished project.
