Mixing Batiks with Regular Cotton fabrics?

I use batiks all the time along with regular cotton prints. I think they really enhance a quilt. You might want to use them in a consistant way such as the center of the "flower" or use them around the outside edge or just simply scatter them about the quilt. Then you could use a batik as a border piece. Good luck.

I haven't mixed cottons with batiks yet, but if the colours go together, go for it.. I have made a batik quilt and hand quilted it with no problems. Looking forward to seeing your finished project.

I am getting ready to make another Grandmother Flower Garden quilt and was wondering if any of you mix batiks in with the regular quilting cotton? The colors are so vibrant and can really pop - but afraid it may over take the other fabrics, not to mention hand sewing through it. So thought I would ask those that have been making the hexagons or even if you just use both fabrics in the same quilt.
