Red face Mixing Batiks with Regular Cotton fabrics?

I am getting ready to make another Grandmother Flower Garden quilt and was wondering if any of you mix batiks in with the regular quilting cotton? The colors are so vibrant and can really pop - but afraid it may over take the other fabrics, not to mention hand sewing through it. So thought I would ask those that have been making the hexagons or even if you just use both fabrics in the same quilt.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Mix away! I love to use batiks for my hand sewing.

Whenever I have them and they look good in a particular project I'll add them in.

I mix them all the time with no problem. I don't hand sew but I don't think that will be a problem.

I prefer not to mix them, but if they look good to you - why not?

I mix them all the time. I go for the tone of the fabric instead of whether it is a print or batik.

I too mix them quite often but then again, I am sewing them by machine.

I also mix them. The texture is slightly different but after quilting and washing it is not hardly noticeable at all. If I like the mix of pattern and color that is what my main goal is.
