It's fine to ask for opinions but you'll get many conflicting opinions on what looks best. In the end it is your quilt and what you like that should rule. I use my design wall a lot so I wouldn't get too hung up on the final design of your quilt before you have even cut the squares out. Just dive in and move things around on a design wall. If you don't have a design wall then use the bed or floor to lay things out before you sew them. Take a picture with a digital camera to give you another perspective. You can also use a peep hole that you put in a door to look at what you have laid out to get yet another perspective on how the finished quilt will look. Squinting your eyes when something is laid out also helps sometimes. Lay it out and leave it be for a while and see how you feel each time you walk by it. Have some fun with the layout and if you have a woops moment so be it and move on. Every quilt I've made, and there are many, I have learned something. Sometimes you just have to do it!
