Default No Longer Terrified of Triangles

I took a class from Bonnie Hunter this weekend.

One of the daunting parts of the pattern (Smith Mountain Morning) is all of the triangles involved - half square in the star blocks and quarter square in the Courthouse Steps blocks. Not to mention the star points.

It really is all in the tools... Bonnie demonstrated the Easy Angle, Companion Angle and Tri Recs rulers. WOW. I am sold.

In the past I've done the draw lines 1/4 inch from the center on squares and gotten lots and lots of wonky triangles. Using these rulers made it so much easier and much more fun.

I finished a grand total of one star block during the workshop - and have units cut/sewn to assemble several more. I had done most of the Courthouse Steps blocks at home, and part of me wishes I had waited so I could have better centers - but I am overall pleased with having those 28 blocks nearly done.

Cheers, K
