I have did it "wrong" on some things. If I knew it was going to be a pain to do "right". I started stitching at the beginning of the binding, went on around the item, then instead of joining the binding. I cut off the binding just longer than where I started, turned it under and sewed over the beginning point. It make a small bump, but alot of times it can be flattened with the iron. and can be handstitched at the binding "hem". hope this makes since. I know its not "proper" but well.............
