I need some advice. I just pieced and quilted a star shaped table topper but how do I bind it? My problem is joining the ends. The space is so small I don't know how to do it.

If the star points are very sharp, you might be best off doing a facing -- i.e., sew the backing to the top right sides together leaving a hole for turning, turn, then hand stitch the opening closed.

I have did it "wrong" on some things. If I knew it was going to be a pain to do "right". I started stitching at the beginning of the binding, went on around the item, then instead of joining the binding. I cut off the binding just longer than where I started, turned it under and sewed over the beginning point. It make a small bump, but alot of times it can be flattened with the iron. and can be handstitched at the binding "hem". hope this makes since. I know its not "proper" but well.............

Since you've already quilted this you have no choice but to use a traditional type binding. I would suggest bias vs straight of grain though since you're doing both inside/outside points. I did a star table topper last year and 'birthed' it. Sewed backing to top, left a hole for turning. Got all those points poked out and then did a seam all the way around the outside edge (1/8 - 1/4" from edge). Then I did minimal 'quilting'. Actually just did decorative stitching over all the seams and called it good as it's a) small and b) not likely to be laundered often.
