The GripStrips only stick to the fabric when you put pressure on the ruler. Once you release the pressure, you can move the ruler around with no problem. I tried the sandpaper dots, but didn't like them because the ruler wouldn't slide across the fabric.

Can you really slide your ruler around for precise placement or does it "stick" too much? I have a triangle ruler that came with the gripper material on the ruler and it is really hard to nudge it to the very edge of the fabric. It was too frustrating for me.
