I totally agree with that part about not buying machines with plastic parts. I bought a Singer 6212 new in 1986,nastiest machine ever, it died finally after 3 years and then I bought a new Bernina 1031; sewing was finally fun again. The Bernina still lives here, my grand daughter sewed a lovely reversible tote bag for herself using the Bernina. She just loves the 1031, asked if she could take it home...silly girl of course not. She had fun making her tote bag. Got to pick fabrics from my stash.
