I was in exactly the same situation in May. I could not finish the baby quilt I wanted to give my daughter in time for her baby shower so I decided to give another gift with a hint/clue that there was still something very special to come. I sincerely feel that if you have put so much love and effort into hand piecing, then you should take the time to finish it the way you really want to. You will be much happier with the end result!
