I don't color coordinate my pins like you do, but I do have three different pincushions at my machine, each with different types of pins in them. A metallic pin cushion holds my favorites, the Clover super thin 0.4 mm pins (translucent yellow and blue round heads). A second pin cushion holds two types of pins, one type on each half: Light/dark blue flower head pins which are 0.45 mm, and those long sturdy pins with the yellow ball head. The third pincushion holds flower head pins (all colors), which are 0.5 mm.
I use all the pins, for various reasons.
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't!
