Aye, I ignore grain in quilting for smaller pieces, other than trying to avoid bias cuts when feasible. If a print is crooked, I cut crooked and just don't worry about it. So far that hasn't caused any problems.

Recently I've been working with hexagons, so at least 2/3rds of my cuts are 'off grain' and that's helped me relax about it too.
