Those two machine do look like peas from the same pod. Do you have a manual for yours? I don't for mine and have burned the internet up looking for one. No luck. I have most of the controls figured out, but without a manual I'll never get it all figured out.

Yes I have a manual for mine, last year someone on the vintage Japanese Yahoo group posted pics of his Simon 142b, same machine, and sent me the manual. I've since found the machine under several names, some with different colors or different noses but still the same model #. Super Deluxe, Modern, Underwood, International, Simon and Remington are the names. Maybe you could use one of these names with your model # to try searching. I'll try to pm you with my manual, maybe it will help.
