I've only done minkee backing on one baby quilt and am planning a 2nd quilt (targeting January). I use cotton batting think it was warm and natural) and am planning on cotton batting in this other one. Houston area and no it's not usually cold here but got feedback from the dad of the first one and he liked it. they draped it over the baby in her car seat(made it a good size) and she used it as a pallet. I warned all I made with fleece that it might be hot so watch the kiddo!
