Just updating, this is a fabulous book. Big full color photos and all the provenance she could find which is considerable.
It is interesting to note many of the quilts were in the 100" X 100" range which was enormous for beds of the period. Perhaps so many remain because they were made of show or for the joy of doing complicated patterns while making their best fabrics stretch.
and as I said above, this book is cheap at twice the price compared to the acres of fabric we have and will never use.
