Boston, I also have excema and have tried about everything but nothing worked for me. I use Cetaphil for washing my hands and showering (it's soapfree and my dermatologist didn't change it...he said it was the best I could use) and I use Vanicream for the back of my hands and my palms (my fingers were so chronic I had to use prescription creams).
Wal-Mart has Cetaphil but it's not with the soaps, it's in the cosmetic section down here. The Vanicream can be bought at Wal-Mart, some drugstores and grocery stores but you have to ask because they keep it behind the prescription counter even though it's not a prescription. I hope you find something that works for you.
