Miriam please don't paint your machine. I love that logo. I also think that it says something very positive about that machine that it's been used that hard twice and it still sews. I think it's earned every bare spot on it's bed and the most likely second round of pin rash on it's arm and I would just leave it alone.
My ugliest machine hasn't been made to sew again yet. Give me some time.
