I love the vintage sewing machine getter machine.
Here's a poem I wrote for my 80th birthday party. Yes, I do all these things, but I forgot Sudoku.
Lord, I don’t want to sit about,
Tired and old and all worn out,
Afraid of heat and rain and cold.
Please keep me busy ‘til I’m old.
Although I walk a slower pace,
Let me meet life face to face.
Let me garden, plant and sew;
Teach English to some folks I know.
Let’s do a square dance, dance a jig;
Mow a lawn that’s not too big.
Help a neighbor, sing a song;
Knit a scarf that’s not too long.
Do some puzzles, read a book;
Let’s stay home, I’d rather cook.
Tat a snowflake, tie a quilt,
Sing a sweet old fashioned lilt.
Patch some blue jeans, feed the birds;
Can tomatoes, rhyme some words.
Teach some children; take some classes;
(Don’t forget my reading glasses).
Lord, keep me working, keep me fit;
At windows I don’t want to sit
And watch the passing world go by;
Lord, keep me busy ‘til I die.
( The first and last verses may be attributed to “Welch”; whoever that is. Some of the second verse came off the net, but the rest I wrote myself.)
