Title should say -Shine on you Crazy Diamond back from the LAQ - Doh!
Well it seems like forever ago (back in July) when I dropped this quilt off at the LAQer's. It took me 3+ months to sew it - (read the history here if you are interested -
http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...d-t238245.html) and I told her not to rush it, take her time and it came out SO AWESOME!!! She said it took 5 days just to do the quilting and what a spectacular job she did! I just love the movement that the stitching adds and the variegated thread pulls it all together.
The entire top is made from Batiks and for each diamond I used one printed batik and one water color. I think this helps enhance the 3D look! It is composed of triangles, diamonds, and 1/2 hexagons. The pattern is very complicated but thanks to EQ7 manageable.
I still need to do the binding (plain black, I think it is busy enough) but could not wait to share this one. I call it Crazy Diamond because I was nuts to have ever started it! But now that I am almost done I am so happy and the best part it is for ME!!!!!
