I have my own sewing room too. A spare room off the garage. It works. I find if I don't have a designated space, it is too difficult to sew often. Plus then my whole house was a mess. I'm a messy sewer and I don't clean up until my project is done - sometimes that takes months.
I gave up keeping a clean house years ago. No one will say when I'm dead "she kept a clean house".
