I'm in love with Aurifil thread. I've used the 50w cotton for piecing and it works great. I love the look of it! My sewing machine loves it, too. I've used Gutermann before but I like Aurifil a lot better.

I would like to use Aurifil for machine quilting, too. I checked some online stores and they recommended 28w for machine quilting. Do you use the same Aurifil thread for piecing and machine quilting? What do you recommend? Is there a difference between machine quilting with 50w and 28w - for example in how it looks?

My next project is a babyquilt so the thread has to survive laundry and lots of use!

Also, do you use the same needle for piecing and machine quilting?
