Use a batting that allows a lot of space between quilting lines, ( like warm & natural allows up to 10" - there are others too)
Use a New, Sharp needle in the size appropriate for the thread weight. Lengthen your stitch length a little bit. Choose a large, open design that allows you to go around the rubbery, decal areas
