I would never invite that woman and the children to my house again. You don't have to accept that behavior and just lay down and let them walk all over you. That the mother did nothing, made fun of you about your sewing, and laughed about what her kids did is unacceptable.
Some people have no respect for others and she sounds like one of them, and is teaching her children the same thing.
