I drizzle or make dots with the glue. I will thin it to drizzle, it's easier to flow out of the bottle. I smooth the fabric on the batting so the glue gets spread out. If I have a wrinkle while quilting, I pull up the fabric and smooth out. If I want to quilt right away I press (with iron- someone will pm me and ask how do you press the quilt) the quilt in place and the glue dries in seconds.
