I bought the Petite one. The largest square you can make with it is 8 1/2" unfinished. You need 4 of these squares to make ONE BLOCK which would measure 16" FINISHED. I don't want to make blocks any bigger than 16" finished as I generally make lap quilts. I agree with above about using light and dark fabrics for a dramatic look. I liked this method as there are NO "Y" seams and NO HST. Hope this helps!
