So do I. Even the lugged V belts just don't seem to fit as well as a black V belt. And I avoid the rubber stretch belts like the plague.

When I was a lot younger I used to be the belt replacer on my mom's machine ( my avatar pic ). About once a year or more that stinking rubber band belt would break and she'd bring home another one. I'd put it on. When we resurrected the machine it had a rotted cracked stretch belt on it. That went in the trash right quick. I've run it with the lugged amber belts and found they tend to crack and break and slip, so now it's got a good old fashioned black v-belt on it.
I only have two machines that I have to run stretch belts on and both of them are ancient New Homes. If I ever find a v-belt that fits I'll get two.
