It's not really their fault - they're not taught to find the obscure stuff. That comes with experience. That's why I head for the oldest looking person when I walk into any shop like that. Usually their heads don't explode when I ask for what I need. Sometimes they even have other suggestions I hadn't thought of.

I'm thinking of another type of shop too that might have belts. I'll investigate a little before I suggest it because I don't know the "type" of shop it would be in the US.
