I love books by Eleanor Burns as they have easy to read instructions, plus illustrated pictures, and there may be tutorials on her Quilt in a Day website, although I haven't been on in a while. There was a book by Carol Doak "Your First Quilt Book, or it should be." I have taken classes from her and she's a very knowledgeable teacher. I had a video by Georgia Bonesteel, however, it's VHS and I would need a DVD to see it, bummer; however, I did by 2 volumes of her binders on Lap Quilting, complete with templates. Granted I purchased it several years ago when my daughter saw the binder and picked out a pattern for me to make my first quilt, plus my only hand quilted quilt, before carpal tunnel. I'd be interested in what other quilters have to recommend.
