My DD let me know that it was already VERY close to steampunk and with a little work... I said no!

I just got the OK to toss the packing materials from the original broken one. The "investigation" is over. UPS actually IS honoring the insurance... sad.

I will use the broken one to practice taking the unit ALL the way apart and getting it back together. then I will be doing it to the intact one.

Some of the tolerances on this are just sad. I.E. the hand wheel wobbles a bit if not screwed tight. I can shim it, but come on.. just a little more work and this would have been a great little machine.
