In a post where I was having problems with triangles lining up in the middle (and not losing the "point" of the triangle) I received loads of wonderful suggestions and advice. Here's the link for this thread:

I found my problem! I wasn't using a scant 1/4 inch seam ... it was THAT easy!!!! And I have PERFECT triangle points!
I didn't have to pin / glue or anything ... wow ... the hardest problem, solved with the simplest solution!!!
And here's a picture to prove how easy it was ... this took me all of 3 minutes with some scrap fabric! LOL
