I wouldn't put that kind of pressure on myself, especially after undergoing chemo. (Hey, if the mother in law has been too sick to mail invitations, then would it be fair to say you have been too sick to make a quilt?) I would buy a baby bathtub and some onesies for the shower. And I would start making a quilt to be given later.
