If I make a quilt for a baby shower, and the mother has indicated a theme and/or color palette, I look & see if I have something to match or coordinate, but if not I don't stress about it. First of all, I'm making a gift from me, not fulfilling a commission from the mom. Second, there are so many ways a quilt can be used outside of the nursery that if it doesn't match it doesn't matter. I should mention that I didn't get that interior design gene. My house is full of stuff that I love, but doesn't necessarily go together
