Yes, I'd say a bit more just to make sure you've got enough in case of cutting mistakes or a measuring mistake is a good idea. Buuut, sometimes a bit more is more than a bit more, like the time I was trying to get 1/2 yard of fabric for a binding, couldn't decide between two so decided to get some of each. Apparently my brain wasn't connected to my mouth that day because instead of 1/2 yard of each I told the lady at the cutting table I needed 2 and 1/2 yards of each. Even I can't mis-cut enough to need 5 yards of fabric to make sure I've got enough for 1/2 yard of binding LOLOL! Luckily, the colors of both are good for the type of quilts I've been making lately so they will get used.
