So, we pay around $99 for medicare and an extra $150 per person for the supplement which in our house amounts to around $500 per month for insurance...is that what others are experiencing? That doesn't make it free and doesn't make it cheap...especially on social security.
Would love others' input on this...
Careful here leighway......Medicare pays 80% BUT there is a yearly cap of out of pocket of $6000. So no bankrupt. and if you are paying $500/month, you are giving the insurance co the $6000 whether you spend it or not. I had lots of medical problems including cancer/surgery/treatments and never came near $6000 out of pocket. and that was just one year. I dont plan to have cancer every year (ha ha) so I will be keeping my $6000 for many other years while you keep forking it over to the insur co no matter what. I just pay the 99 that Soc Sec takes out & has a D plan for nothing.
