I too don't like basting the sandwich. Really hate it! Most of the other stuff I don't mind too much. Not too crazy about hand sewing the binding down but I recently saw a tutorial on how to make a binding with a flange then machine sewing it on both front and back and I hope to try this next time. Liked the look and the lack of hand sewing. My fingers really get locked up sometimes when I am holding the binding down for hand sewing even when I use clips. Guess I hold it to tightly.
