Eyelashes on the bottom would indicate 1. The top tension needs to be increased. 2. You are moving your quilt sandwich too rapidly. 3. Or, a combination of both.

Try setting the machine to the Medium speed and move the quilt sandwich slower as you sew. Try first to sew just a straight line with your free motion settings. Check your top and bottom tension and the length of your stitches. The stitches should be equal in distance from each other and only about 1/16th or 1/8th of an inch apart. There should be no loops on either the top or bottom of the stitches. Loops on the bottom require an increase in upper tension. Loops on the top require a decrease in upper tension. Do not attempt to adjust the bobbin tension at this point.

Then try the same, using a meandering pattern. You should get the same results from both.
