I did it for the first time on my guild name tag -- so super easy. You just trim down the batting & then cut the backing so that it's 1/2 - 9/16" wider than your top, fold it in half & attach just like you normally would attach binding to the front. Really love it because there's no sewing ends together or trying to match up back & front or anything. Easy to sew by machine or by hand. I do recommend hand stitching up the seam of the mitered corners just to give it that perfectly smooth finish.
