I save any scraps of batting that might make something nice, from potholders to table runners. I sew some of the pieces together to make more larger batts for quilts, but I don't throw very much away. I quilt by the frugal method as my quilt allowance isn't very large. I buy maybe $50.-$100.00 a month on my quilting. I have an extensive stash thanks to many friends who have contributed, but every saving helps, so I save 4" strips to larger pieces of batting all the time.
