Onalee I love the quilt and am so glad you have it finished and are enjoying it. I think the pink was a great choice, and definitely looks like it belongs with the rest of the fabrics. You did the right thing by finishing this quilt. It makes no sense to take a beautiful piece of art that someone has spent many hours creating and stuff it in some drawer where no one can enjoy it. Kate would certainly prefer that you finish (however you need to) and use her gift than hide it away til you're gone and then have someone else buy it in a thrift store for a pittance. There's my $0.02. It's worth what you paid for it.
