To answer a couple of your posts. From the serial number my Featherweight was made in the sixties. The white ones were only made for less than a decade - approximately from 1964 to 1970, so they aren't as old as the black ones. Maybe that is why it is in such good shape. Not that many were manufactured and that is why they seem to cost more than the black ones. Black or white just a peach of a simple machine. What did I pay for it? Too much by some thinking but for me it was worth it. It wasn't a "need" but a "want". I bartered an old not working machine plus $275 for it. Yes that is a lot but so worth it to me.
